Friday, October 15
4:00 pm – Arriving in McAllen, TX from Rio Grande City
Entering into McAllen, Texas we enter into one of the most central areas around the the struggle for common good border and immigration practices. After traveling over 700 miles of wall-free border between the United States and Mexico from El Paso to McAllen with the Rio Grande River marking the border line, the wall makes a brief reappearance in McAllen. This wall serves to distance the peoples of Reynosa, MX from their fellow community members in McAllen. We will spend three days hearing the stories of the people who are in Reynosa, MX and McAllen, TX about the impact of border practices and immigration policies.

6:00 pm – Dinner with Staff from Practice Mercy
The Practice Mercy Foundation is a holistic and relational faith-based NGO focused on serving indigenous women and their children seeking refuge within our borders.

Saturday, October 16
9:00 am – Cross border into Reynosa, MX as part of a Practice Mercy team.
We will spend the day meeting people, hearing stories of impacted people and learning about the work being done to support asylum seekers and others who are ling un-housed in the parks of Reynosa as they wait for the asylum and immigration process to reengage after being on hold due to US COVID-19 restrictions.

Sunday, October 17
9:00 am – Engagement with people in McAllen, TX

1:00 pm – Start ride toward Brownsville, TX
